On September 26th a press conference was held at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex on the 16th Boxing World Championships.
President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Ching-Kuo Wu said the Championships had been organized at high level. He stressed the importance of the Championships, which is the major qualifying event for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Ching-Kuo Wu noted Azerbaijan`s capital had hosted several major international competitions. He said the opening ceremony of the Championships was organized at high level, as well.
The AIBA president also hailed the Azerbaijani leadership`s care and attention to development of sports in the country.
Ching-Kuo Wu added AIBA had fulfilled all its obligations to hold the Championships in a transparent and objective manner.
