British Embassy in Baku holds ''500 days to go'' campaign

The British Embassy in Baku, the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Youth and Sport co-organized fun runs in Baku marking 500 days to until the London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012.
The British Embassy, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) and the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) have launched an on-line competition (in Azerbaijani language) which is run on the websites of the Embassy and www.olimpiya.az from 23 February until 10 March As a part of the campaign. About 15 questions developed jointly with the NOC and the NPC are focused on the history of the Olympic and Paralympic movement, London 2012 Games, and the history of Azerbaijan's participation in the Games. As a prize the winner will receive two BMI tickets to the UK and two tickets to an Olympic event in 2012. Furthermore, in partnership with the British Council, the Embassy organized a School Sports Week - these sport festivals that will take place between 5 and 14 March at sport halls of 10 schools situated in Baku involving a mixed group of 300 boys and girls aged 8-13 reflecting different types of Olympic Games.
The winners of the above mentioned events will be awarded their prizes at a Reception on 14 March at Baku Business Center.
