The French magazine "Valeurs actuelles" (September 16) has published an article titled "The Asian up-growth in front of the gates of Europe" which gives extensive information on Azerbaijan.
The magazine cover places the photo of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev together with the President of France Nicolas Sarkozy, the information on energy resources of the Caspian region, increase in volume of GDP as a result of foreign investments to the national economy.
The article provides with the information that thanks to successful economic reforms, and foresighted policy pursued by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Caspian republic didn't at all feel the crisis which captured the whole world in 2009, and that in this country of Caucasus rich with energy resources the volume of GDP grew for 9,3 percent.
Authors of article refer to speech of President Ilham Aliyev to businessmen in Paris in the Organization of Entrepreneurs of France (MEDEF) during his visit to France in December last year. The head of Azerbaijan state in his statement has noted that in 2004-2009s Azerbaijan on growth of GDP among the developed countries of the world has reached the good results, and that the received incomes have been directed on solution of social problems. The campaign for struggle against unemployment has yielded fine results and that in the near future unemployment and poverty will be completely eliminated.
The authors especially refer to the thoughts of President Ilham Aliyev who has noted that political stability and peace are important factors of successes of the country, quick development, democratic and economic reforms, despite the economic crisis, and recognition by authoritative World Economic Forum in its report of the achievement of Azerbaijan as the highest economic indicators among the CIS countries.
The article informs that the Republic has in 60 countries of the world embassies, diplomatic representatives, consulates of Azerbaijan, and that Europe is a model of development for the country.
The magazine writes also about special attention of President Ilham Aliyev to the solution of problems of ecology and environment, and that in this connection 2010 in Azerbaijan has been declared a "Year of Ecology". As noted, for maintenance of the population with potable water and modernization of the water supply system the French company "Veola" cooperates with the country's companies.
The magazine also provides with photos reflecting sights of the country.
