A solemn opening ceremony of Azerbaijani embassy in the Kingdom of the Netherlands was held on the sidelines of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov's visit to this country.

2000 sq. m area embassy complex, which is the property of the Republic of Azerbaijan and consists of three buildings, is situated in the most reliable area of the Hague. The halls and rooms, special video halls, rooms of diplomatic staff and ambassador's residence are situated in the main building.

In his keynote speech, Azerbaijani embassy in the Netherlands Fuad Iskandarov informed about the embassy's activity. Secretary General of the Netherlands' Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ed Kronenburg said that his country attached great importance to relations with Azerbaijan. He congratulated Azerbaijani people on the Day of Republic and expressed wish for further strengthening of relations between two countries.

In his speech, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan-Netherlands relations were rapidly developing.

Members of government of the Netherlands, parliamentarians, ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in the Netherlands, presidents and judges of the international courts in the Haague, heads of universities and high schools in the Netherlands, heads of business companies and NGOs and different businessman, local press representatives, activists of the Azerbaijani Diaspora attended the event.
