Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu and his accompanying delegation visited the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the tomb of Azerbaijan`s national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev.

They also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

The delegation visited the Alley of Martyrs to lay flowers at the graves of Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity. They also laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.

The delegation enjoyed a panoramic view of the capital and was informed on redevelopment works in Azerbaijan`s capital Baku.

Then, they visited a monument to Turkish martyrs who died for Azerbaijan`s independence in 1918.
