The Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan organized Monday an official reception on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Chinese ambassador Hong Jiuyin said that diplomatic relationship established 20 years ago between Azerbaijan and China is developing with support of the both countries` leaders.
Touching upon the opportunities for strengthening and expanding of bilateral political confidence and traditional friendship between the countries, Hong Jiuyin highlighted Azerbaijan and China cooperation as part of the international organizations.
"China is keen to develop friendly, cooperative relations with Azerbaijan," the ambassador added.
First vice-speaker of the Milli Majlis Ziyafat Asgarov congratulated the event participants on the behalf of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and expressed satisfaction with the rapid development of bilateral relations between the countries in various spheres.
Stressing China as first countries recognizing Azerbaijan`s regained independence, Ziyafat Asgarov said that the national leader Heydar Aliyev`s and President Ilham Aliyev`s visits to China in 1994 and 2005 accordingly gave a push for expanding of relations between the two countries.
"China and Azerbaijan always support each other in the international arena and China has a justice position on the providing of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity," Mr. Asgarov added.
The event was attended by state and government officials, deputies of the Milli Majlis, accredited ambassadors of foreign countries in Azerbaijan and others.
