The Caucasus Muslims Board hosted a meeting with the chairman of the Department of Regional Cooperation, National Policy and Relations with Religious Organizations of Moscow Yuri Artyukhov and Minister of Moscow Government, Head of the Department for Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow Sergei Cheremin, who are visiting Azerbaijan. 
Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Board Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Pashazadeh welcomed the guests and expressed confidence that their visit would further strengthen ties between the two countries.
Pashazade said that during many years his activities have been associated with the CIS countries, in particular with Russia.
"Close links have been established with the Russian Orthodox Church," he said. Pashazadeh also stressed great achievements of the ambassador of Russia to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin and the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu.
Pashazade stressed that the Caucasian Muslims Board cooperates closely with the heads of the major faiths represented in Azerbaijan.
Yuri Artyukh expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the Government of Moscow and the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. Guest expressed the hope that this visit will give a new impetus to the centuries-old friendly and good neighbourly relations between Moscow and Baku, Azerbaijan and Russia.
The meeting was attended by the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin, Chairman of the Russian Community of Azerbaijan Mikhail Zabelin, Head of the Baku-Azerbaijan diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, Alexander Shein, Head of the Community of Mountain Jews of Azerbaijan Semen Ikhiilov, rector of the Roman Catholic Church in Baku, Vladimir Fekete.
