On January 6th  the members of Belgium-Azerbaijan interparliamentary working group visited the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the tomb of Heydar Aliyev, national leader of Azerbaijan. 
They also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
Then, the guests visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity. They laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
Chief of the working group Philippe Lanchart said the aim of the visit is to meet with their colleagues and closely familiarize with Azerbaijan. Mr. Lanchart said Azerbaijan is very important for Europe from the point of view of energy cooperation and geographical position.
The guest underlined Azerbaijan carries out successful policy to integrate into Europe. Mr. Lanchart said Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict as well as further cooperation will be discussed at the meetings.
