Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Traian Basescu of Romania have been awarded an Honorary Diploma of the International Fund For Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea.
It was announced at a meeting on the results of the Fund in 2011.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea Viktor Khmarin and vice-president Iulian Fota were also honored with this diploma.
Vice-President of the Fund, adviser of Romanian president on security issues Iulian Fota highlighted the activity of the Fund.
He praised the role of Azerbaijan in the activity of the Fund.
Fota also briefed participants on the ongoing reforms and comprehensive development in Azerbaijan.
Secretary General and vice-president of the Fund, Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Romania Eldar Hasanov spoke of achievements of the Fund.
President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi were also awarded an honorary diploma of the Fund for contribution to development of cooperation between the Black and Caspian Sea regions, peoples and countries.
The event brought together Board of Directors of BSCSIF, experts, officials, representatives of NGO`s and heads of diplomatic corps accredited to Romania.
