A conference on role of cooperation between Euronest Parliamentary Assembly and civil society organizations in integration into European Union (EU) was held today here.
The event co-organized by Azerbaijan Lawyers Confederation, Eurasia Partnership Foundation and Swedish International Development Agency was attended by the members of Azerbaijani parliament, Ambassadors, and representatives of international organizations and NGOs.
Azerbaijani MP, Chairman of Azerbaijan Lawyers Confederation Ali Huseynli, President of Eurasia Partnership Foundation addressed the event and underlined importance of the topic.
Huseynli said aim of the event is to contribute to strengthening cooperation and dialogue between Euronest PA and civil society.
Speaking in the conference, head of Azerbaijani delegation to Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, chairman of the Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan Elkhan Suleymanov pointed out integration into EU "is one of the main goals of Azerbaijan". He added that Azerbaijan-EU ties cover broad spheres, noted existence of partnership relations between the sides.
The conference also saw debates on opportunities for the cooperation with the civil society institutions, dialogue between the civil society institutions and government bodies in the integration into the EU and others.
