A delegation led by chairman of Azerbaijan Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev visited Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Russia to participate in the international conference.
Azeri delegation was invited to the conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation by chairman of the Court Valery Zorkin.
According to the press service of Azerbaijan Constitutional Court, opening the conference, President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev praised the role of the Constitutional Court in the society, its contribution to the development of statehood. He also appreciated highly the cooperation among foreign Constitutional courts stressing its importance.
Farhad Abdullayev made a speech on practical problems of the constitutional supervision`s implementation in Azerbaijan Republic according to the program of the conference.
Chairmen of Constitutional Courts and prominent jurists from the Commonwealth Independent States (CIS), Europe and other countries held discussions on constitutional law.
Mr. Abdullayev held meetings with chairmen and judges of the European Court of Human Rights and the Constitutional Courts of foreign countries to discuss law-court cooperation within the framework of the conference.
