The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan started courses on electoral law for chairmen of district election commissions.
Addressing at the opening ceremony, chairman of the CEC Mazahir Panahov stressed the importance of the courses.
He said foundation for holding free, fair and transparent elections was laid by Heydar Aliyev.
"This tradition is today being continued by President Ilham Aliyev," Panahov added.
Department chief of the Azerbaijan Presidential Administration Zeynal Nagdaliyev also underlined the importance of the courses. He said measures are in place to hold democratic relations in line with the Head of State`s order.
First vice-speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ziyafat Asgarov spoke of voting rights.
Department chief of the Azerbaijan Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev, First Deputy Prosecutor General Rustam Usubov and ombudswoman Elmira Suleymanova will deliver lectures at the courses.
Chairmen of district election commissions will receive certificates after completing the courses.
