The Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy has begun its third course on Caspian basin studies for diplomats from African countries.
On the first day director of Advanced Foreign Policy Program (AFSP) Aygun Hajiyeva informed participants about foundation of ADA. She said ADA is training not only local diplomats but also professionals to work in both state and private sectors since rapidly developing Azerbaijan needs highly-qualified specialists.
Diplomats from Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Gambia, and Madagascar will be attending ten-day courses.
During ten days, foreign diplomats will hear presentations on history and cultural heritage of the Caspian region, its status and geopolitics, oil industry, economy and investment opportunities, potential threats that could endanger future of the region and regional conflicts.
Representatives of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, Foreign Ministry, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Fund (Azpromo) will deliver lectures for the diplomats.
The courses will also feature special discussions on 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan's independence and diplomats will get familiar with the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.
To learn more about culture and history of Azerbaijan, diplomats will visit Guba, Gobustan as well as Sangachal terminal, Bibi Heybat Mosque and other cultural centers and museums.
