Third conference of Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia kicks off in St Petersburg

The third conference of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia, AMOR started Saturday in the Tavrichesky Palace in Saint-Petersburg.
The two-day event was devoted to the second anniversary of the establishment of AMOR. Representatives of AMOR from all regions of Russia are participating in the event.
The conference started with the performance of national anthems of Azerbaijan and Russia.
Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Chairperson of AMOR Leyla Aliyeva addressed the event highlighting the two-year activity of the organization. She underlined AMOR had achieved sufficiently good results over the past two years.
Aliyeva noted the organization expands its geographical presence, adding now the Azerbaijani youth clubs operate not only in Moscow and St Petersburg, but also in Arkhangelsk, Tver, Ekaterinburg and several other regions.
She also informed about the actions, events and meetings held by AMOR over the past two years, particularly emphasizing the Justice for Khojaly campaign. Aliyeva stressed due to this campaign more and more people in the world become aware of the Khojaly tragedy committed against the Azerbaijani people. She expressed confidence that the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict will be settled fairly and Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity will be restored.
Other speakers at the event were Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov, Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Mikhail Krotov, Chief of Political Analysis and Information Provision Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Elnur Aslanov, Chairman of the Youth Policy Committee of the Administration of St Petersburg Alexander Nikolaev, President of the St Petersburg State University Lyudmila Verbitskaya, Secretary General of the OIC Youth Forum Elshad Isgandarov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in St Petersburg Alexander Volokh, Vice-President of Latin America Youth Forum Julian Lugo Mendez, representatives of the youth organizations of Moscow, St Petersburg and Central Federal District.
A concert dedicated to the second anniversary of the establishment of AMOR took place on the Narishkin bastion of the Petropavlovsk castle.
On Sunday, the conference will continue its work with panel discussions. The same day, the garden named after genius Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi will be opened in St Petersburg after capital repair.
