The number of persons having personal accounts in the system is about 3 million 520 thousand people.

In January-August of the current year, individual personal accounts have been additionally opened to 146 329 people in the personal accounting system of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This is 13.5 percent (128,964 people) more than the corresponding period of last year.

Thus, the number of insured persons registered in the system as of 1 September 2017 increased by 6.4% compared to the corresponding period of last year (3 309 118 people) and reached 3 million 519 thousand 886 people.

The personal accounting system, which is an important element of the insurance-pension system of Azerbaijan, has been operating since 2006. Covering of the working citizens with the individual accounting system, having a personal account in the system, plays a key role for the formation of their rights to labour pension. Establishment of social insurance relations based on electronic infrastructure has been also provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population. Citizens use all services on social insurance relations in real time, in a relaxed and transparent environment through "Online registration of mandatory state social insurance funds", "Online registration of the insured (Physical person)", "Online registration of the insured (Legal person)", "The study of account number of insured", "Acceptance of application for changing or duplicating state social insurance certificate", and other e-services.

In addition "Providing information to insured" e-service of the ministry is also in use by the population, which allows each employee to receive regular information on pension capital accumulated in his (her) personal account.
