The minister of labour and social protection of population of the Republic of Azerbaijan Salim Muslumov visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. On the same day, S.Muslumov met the head of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR Vasif Talibov.
   At the meeting,V. Talibov brought to the attention that, the long-term progress strategy of independent Azerbaijan that nationwide leader of our people Heydar Aliyev the author of it and continued and developed high level by the President Mr. Ilham Aliyev is successfully implemented in Nakhchivan AR. V.Talibov stated that, Nakhchivan AR, which celebrated 91-year anniversary of the establishment, a few days ago, on February 9, has achieved rapid development in all spheres of economic and social life and macroeconomic stability is preserved from year to year. In the last decade, the income of the population has increased more than 10 times. At the same time, over the past decade, expenditures on social security and protection of the population have increased more than 55 times, the poverty rate fell from 35.1 percent to 4.5 percent. 
   Chairman of the Supreme Assembly stressed that, the reforms ongoing in Azerbaijan in the field of labour and social protection of population is also carried out at a high level in Nakhchivan AR. V.Talibov stated that, ensuring the state control over the complete clearance of all labour relations between employees and employers, provision of workers' rights in all workplaces, including, private enterprises, the creation of a healthy and safe working conditions, organization of labour and compliance with safety rules is kept in the spotlight. Measures are being continued to enable the development of effective employment of the population, purposeful work is carried out for improvement of the quality of the workforce in accordance with the development of the economy, the requirements of the labour market, as well as, the provision of employment for socially vulnerable groups, including the persons with disabilities in the Autonomous Republic.
   S.Muslumov stressed that, despite the conditions of blockade, we are proud of the historic achievements thath Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic obtained in all areas, today's dynamic development of Nakhchivan, five thousand years of city culture, the sustained and large-scale construction and creative work carried out here. The minister stated that, implementation of wise political course of Nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and successful policy of our honorable President Mr. Ilham Aliyev in the Nakhchivan AR provides success of the autonomous republic, its comprehensive and rapid progress: "Today Nakhchivan is developing confidently and successfully", as noted by Mr.President in a ceremony devoted to the 90th anniversary of  Nakhchivan AR". 
   S.Muslumov noted that, implementing important infrastructure projects of economic and social significance, sustainable modernization, payment of the demand for majority of food and non-food products at the expense of internal resources, the expansion of the export potential, improvement of social welfare, having positive trends in occupancy of the population and demographic processes are the important development indicators of the autonomous republic. Generally, in accordance with the specific model of development, the important economic achievements also in Nakhchivan AR, at the same time, is observed by strong social policies, the implementation of the measures taken to improve the social welfare of the population. 
   At the meeting, it was exchanged views on the work done, reforms carried out in the field of labour and social protection in the Nakhchivan AR. Then, S. Muslumov became familiar with the activities of Nakhchivan Regional Information Center for physically disabled people, during his visit. People with physical disabilities living in 7 district of the autonomous republic, including Nakhchivan city can use the Center, where there is a modern standards of teaching and service conditions. There are classrooms equipped with computers, cinema hall, where films with subtitles demonstrated, audio studio, relaxation room, meeting rooms and so on. at the two-storey Center. There are the necessary conditions here for disabled and visually impaired people to access the Internet and obtain information with Braille monitors and print them using the Braille printers, as well as, reproducing any information to computers with special equipments, in the corner consists of books with Braille shrifts and etc. The Regional Information Centers for physically disabled people were also created in Ganja city and Yevlakh district for people with physical disabilities, with support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. 
   S.Muslumov being also at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, got acquainted with the activities of the ministry, the working conditions. The work carried out by the Ministry in the field of improving the social protection system, ensuring transparency in business, strengthening state control over compliance with labour legislation, registration of notifications of labour contract in an electronic information system and in other areas was discussed.
