Azerbaijan highly values relations with Georgia in political, economic and other fields

On December 26th Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade met with Georgian delegation led by the Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili.
Artur Rasizade emphasized that Azerbaijan highly values the level of relations with Georgia in political, economic and other fields.
According to Rasizade, Azerbaijan and Georgia implement large-scale projects, open new enterprises. "Azerbaijan houses 100 enterprises with the Georgian capital, 300 companies with Azerbaijani capital operate in Georgia. We are also planning to build a fertilizer plant in Georgia. All these projects will contribute to the economic benefits of our countries," said Rasizade.
The Azerbaijani Prime Minister said that over the centuries there were never any problems between the two nations. "And I am sure that this will continue. Your visit will contribute to the strengthening of our relations," he said.
Artur Rasizade briefed the delegation on the ongoing projects of international importance. "We are conducting intensive road construction to Georgia. Our two countries have a great potential to continue these projects,” said Rasizade.
According to Rasizade, the biggest problem for Azerbaijan is the occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory, and 1 million Azerbaijani refugees. "Unconstructive position of Armenia impedes the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. We support the peaceful solution of this dispute and are making efforts in this direction,” said Rasizade adding that Azerbaijan is grateful to Georgia for the support of Azerbaijan's position in the international arena.
"I have expected a very warm welcome in Azerbaijan. But we got more - a brotherly attitude," said Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili adding that relationship between the two friendly countries can serve as an example for other countries. "I have decided to pay my first visit to Azerbaijan, because relations between our countries are historically friendly. Our goal is to deepen our relations and bring them to a level that allows us to take into account a common position in the international arena,” Bidzina Ivanishvili said. “We will do everything to make our relationship even stronger," said Ivanishvili.
