On January 13th Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov met visiting Speaker of the Republic of Korea`s National Assembly Park Hee-tae. 
Asadov praised the current level of relationship between Azerbaijan and Korea. He said Park Hee-tae`s visit to Azerbaijan would contribute to expanding relations between the two countries` legislative bodies.
Asadov also underlined the role of the two countries` leaders in development of bilateral cooperation. He also hailed the fact that more than 40 documents were signed between Azerbaijan and Korea. Asadov added trade turnover between the two countries increased by 74 percent in 2011.
The Milli Majlis Speaker also recalled his trip to the Republic of Korea, underlining the importance of reciprocal visits to boosting bilateral ties.
Asadov touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying Armenia does not honor decisions and resolutions adopted by international organizations. He added the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict poses serious threat to the development of not only Azerbaijan, but the entire region.
Park Hee-tae, in turn, praised the ongoing development processes in Azerbaijan. He noted all accomplishments made in Azerbaijan were the result of President Ilham Aliyev`s wise policy of. Hee-tae noted his country attaches great importance to development of relations with Azerbaijan. According to the Speaker, Azerbaijan was the first country in the South Caucasus region where South Korea opened its Embassy.
Park Hee-tae also noted he would spare no efforts to deepening ties between the two countries` parliaments.
