An official reception has been held in honor of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on behalf of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in Kyiv.
The Heads of State addressed the reception.
The President of Ukraine said President Ilham Aliyev`s paying one of his first visits to Ukraine after his re-election is a vivid example of excellent relations between the two nations.
President Viktor Yanukovych said Azerbaijani-Ukrainian relations have great prospects, expressing confidence that the documents signed during the visit would contribute to boosting the bilateral bonds.
President Ilham Aliyev praised the relations between the two countries as friendly and fraternal.
The Head of State said Azerbaijan puts special emphasis on its relationship with Ukraine.
President Ilham Aliyev said they discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, adding the two presidents shared similar views “because it is the national interests of our states and people that lie at the heart of the policy pursued in both countries”.
