On May 30th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence of the U.S. House of Representatives, Senator Saxby Chambliss.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that the U.S.-Azerbaijan Convention: “Vision for the Future” was excellently organized in Baku on May 29, adding the event brought together more than 300 participants from the United States.
The Head of State stressed the importance of fruitful discussions on the Azerbaijan-U.S. partnership at the event.
Senator Saxby Chambliss said he had eye-witnessed big development in Azerbaijan both under national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev.
He thanked the Azerbaijani leader for development of good partnership relationship between the two countries in a number of fields.
They noted bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and the U.S. were developing on different fronts, including energy, fight against terrorism and security.
They hailed Azerbaijan`s contributions to the energy security of Europe, and discussed prospects for the Azerbaijan-U.S. cooperation.
President Ilham Aliyev and Senator Saxby Chambliss exchanged views on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
