Following the official welcoming ceremony, presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Andris Berzins of Latvia met in private.
The presidents praised development of bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Latvia in a variety of fields, particularly in political and economic spheres.
They stressed importance of mutual visits in terms of expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
The presidents expressed confidence the visit would contribute to developing the Azerbaijan-Latvia relations.
The Heads of State also exchanged views on the strengthening of relations with Latvia in the context of the Azerbaijan-EU cooperation.
