On November 26th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with delegation led by the Speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly Cemil Çiçek.
"Azerbaijan is a shining star of the whole region, whole Caucasus, and it will keep shining in the future," said Cemil Çiçek adding that he saw significant progress and development in Azerbaijan.
The Speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly stressed the importance of Azerbaijan - Turkey friendly relations for the strengthening of stability and cooperation in the region. Çiçek also spoke about successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in all areas including Interparliamentary.
President Ilham Aliyev highly valued the role of Turkey in the ongoing global processes. He emphasized the importance of Azerbaijan-Turkey unity for the expansion of regional cooperation.
President Aliyev also said Azerbaijan-Turkey cooperation in political, economic, energy, transport, commercial and other fields do contribute to the development of the whole region. The President also stressed the role of the Turkey-Azerbaijan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council for the development of bilateral cooperation.
President Aliyev said Turkey and Azerbaijan have close Interparliamentary ties and always support each other within the various international organizations.
The Azerbaijani leader said he hoped the visit of delegation led by the Speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly Cemil Çiçek to Azerbaijan will give another impetus to the expansion of bilateral relations.
The meeting also focused on Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict negotiation process and other issues.
