On October 14th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev accepted credentials of newly appointed ambassador of Lithuania Arturas Zurauskas. 
The Ambassador passed along a ceremonial guard of honor.
The Azerbaijani President had a conversation with the diplomat.
The Head of State noted bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Lithuania were expanding in all directions on the basis of mutual interest.
President Ilham Aliyev said political cooperation was successfully developing between the two countries.
The President noted there were big opportunities for expansion of the bilateral cooperation in the field of economy.
The Head of State expressed hope relationship between the two countries would continue to develop rapidly.
The Azerbaijani leader wished the ambassador successes in his diplomatic activity.
The Lithuanian ambassador said he was honored to represent his country in the friendly country as Azerbaijan.
The ambassador conveyed Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite`s greetings to the Head of State.
Zurauskas recalled a meeting between President Ilham Aliyev and Lithuanian leader Dalia Grybauskaite.
The Head of State asked the diplomat to deliver his greetings to the Lithuanian President.
The Azerbaijani leader also recalled his meeting with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite.
President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits for expanding bilateral ties.
During the meeting, they expressed confidence Lithuania would contribute to the Azerbaijan-European Union cooperation.
