On October 14th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received credentials of newly appointed ambassador of Iran Mohsen Pak Ayin. 
The Ambassador passed along a ceremonial guard of honor.
The Azerbaijani President had a conversation with the diplomat.
Touching upon development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, the Head of State expressed confidence this cooperation will continue to develop successfully.
President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit.
The President also underlined the importance of participation of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in this summit.
The Head of State noted bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iran were many-branched and cover a lot of fields.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence during his diplomatic activity Mohsen Pak Ayin would give his contribution to expand bilateral relationship between the two countries even more.
The ambassador conveyed Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad`s greetings to the Head of State.
"National leader Heydar Aliyev played an important role in establishment of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Iran," said Mohsen Pak Ayin.
The diplomat wished President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan successes and prosperity.
The ambassador noted he would spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening relationship between the two countries.
The Head of State asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings to the Iranian President.
