Azerbaijani President opens Baku Funicular, pedestrian underpass on Azneft side street, and inspects redevelopment work at Seaside National Park, and views new public catering facilities near National Flag Square

On May 23rd President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev opened the Baku Funicular after revamp. 
The Head of State was accompanied by his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva.
The Baku Funicular was founded in 1960. The facility had been repaired several times. Last year the Head of State ordered a major overhaul of the Funicular.
The President cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the facility, which will serve Baku residents and gusts free of chare until May 29.
The Head of State and his spouse boarded the Funicular to ascend it`s the upper station.

The President then opened a pedestrian underpass on the Azneft side street.
Transport minister Ziya Mammadov told the Head of State that the facility was 54m in length and 6m in width.
President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse viewed the underpass.

The Head of State and his spouse then proceeded to the Seaside National Park. They viewed the facade of the State Museum of Azerbaijani Carpet and Applied Art. The President and the first lady inspected redevelopment work at the "Venice" park here.
They also viewed the Seaside National Park`s portion which links it to the National Flag Square.
President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva inspected newly built public catering facilities next to the Square.
