On May 7th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inaugurated a new section of the Seaside National Park.
The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the facility.
Accompanied by his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva, the President toured the Park`s expanded area by electric cars.
The 1.8km-long new stretch links the Park to the National Flag Square. The new section covers an area of 20 hectares.
The redevelopment and expansion of the Seaside National Park is part of President Ilham Aliyev`s measures to modernize the country`s look.
Outdated factories and facilities located at the site of the Park`s new section were moved to other areas.
The redevelopment saw the opening of a new line for cars, mini-buses and mini-trains travelling on the facility`s territory. A new bicycle lane was also built here. The Park received a state-of-the-art lighting system, as well as rare trees and plants. The redevelopment work will also see the installation of leisure facilities and entertainment attractions here.
The Park`s 450m-long pier was extended to further 100m into the sea.
The expansion will see the Park reach 25km in length, linking it to Zigh and Shikh beaches.
The President and his spouse viewed pleasure boats. The Head of State also inspected pedestrian passages on the new section of the Park.
