On December 1st President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of new ambassador of Bangladesh Zulfigur Rahman.  President Aliyev made conversation with the ambassador, during which he described the level of relationship between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh as `good`. He added the two countries had active cooperation within the UN and other international organizations.
The Head of State expressed confidence that relations between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh would further continue to develop. President Aliyev stressed the necessity of increasing efforts to expand bilateral relationship in all spheres.
The Azerbaijani President also expressed hope that good results would be achieved in all spheres, including the economic one during Zulfigur Rahman`s tenure in Azerbaijan.
Ambassador Rahman congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan`s securing a seat on the UN Security Council. The diplomat said his country would continue to support Azerbaijan on resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Rahman also thanked the Azerbaijani President for backing Bangladesh in various international forums.
The Head of State, in turn, thanked the Bangladeshi government for the resolution adopted on settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and support it gave to Azerbaijan when the country was elected as a member of the UN Security Council.
