President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received credentials of newly-appointed ambassador of the United Arab Emirates Salem Khalifa Mohammed Al Gafli on November 2nd.
The Ambassador passed along the guard of honor.

The Head of State underlined bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates have great history, adding these relations were developing successfully.
President Ilham Aliyev praised cooperation between the two countries both in the bilateral format and within international organizations.
The President said Azerbaijan was interested in expanding cooperation with the UAE in all fields, in particular political and economic ones.
The Head of State recalled meetings during his visit to the United Arab Emirates.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the UAE Embassy`s starting operations in Azerbaijan, adding it would create a good opportunity to deepen cooperation between the two countries even more.
The ambassador conveyed greetings to the Head of State from the UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Salem Al Gafli said he was pleased to be the first ambassador of the UAE in Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani leader asked the diplomat to pass on his greetings to the UAE President, Ruler of Dubai and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
