President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Member of the House of Representatives of the Australian Parliament, member of Australia-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Steve Georganas.

Members of the delegation of the Australian Parliament said that they are pleased to be visiting Azerbaijan. According to them, during a press briefing, which they held immediately after the closure of polling stations, they hailed transparency of the entire election process. They hailed high turnout at polling stations, adding that the voting was democratic.

The head of state stressed that all conditions were created in Azerbaijan to conduct the election in compliance with law and in an open and transparent fashion, and to ensure that people freely express their will. President Ilham Aliyev praised the fact that turnout was high in the election, and pointed out that the election was held in full compliance with Azerbaijan`s commitments to the Council of Europe.
