President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of US BlackRock company, the world's largest asset manager, Laurence Fink in Davos.

Laurence Fink informed President Ilham Aliyev about the company. BlackRock is the world's largest asset manager with $6.3 billion in assets under management. BlackRock operates globally with 70 offices in 30 countries.

Saying that the development of the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan and the reforms implemented in this field were followed with interest, Laurence Fink expressed his hope that the Republic of Azerbaijan will act not only as an investor, but also as an investment target of BlackRock in the coming years. Laurence Fink said he will visit Azerbaijan in the near future to familiarize himself with the country`s investment opportunities once again.

President Ilham Aliyev hailed cooperation between the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan and BlackRock. The head of state highlighted effective reforms implemented in different branches of Azerbaijan`s economy in recent years. President Ilham Aliyev spoke about global projects implemented under Azerbaijan's leadership and initiative, including the Southern Gas Corridor, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, as well as Alat free trade zone, describing them as very productive in terms of investment.
