After their private meeting, Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Boris Tadic of Serbia were joined by the two countries` delegations for wider talks.

President Ilham Aliyev said:

"Esteemed Mr. President,
Dear friends,
Once again I welcome you to our country. Yesterday and today we had good discussions on our bilateral relations which are successfully developing. And I believe your visit will be a right and important step that will contribute to developing and expanding our relations, which cover a number of spheres.
We enjoy very strong political relations. I believe our economic relations will develop in line with this strategic course. Relations with Serbia are very important to us. I`m confident our strong bilateral relations will also open up good opportunities for cooperation between the Balkan and Caucasian regions, and we will move forward.
Your trip is a first official visit by a Slovenian president to Azerbaijan. We highly praise it, thank you for accepting our invitation.
I believe discussions which we`ve had today and documents to be signed will lay solid foundations for long-term strategic relations between our countries.
Once again I welcome you to Azerbaijan. I believe you will be satisfied with your visit."

President Boris Tadic said:

"Thank you, Mr. President. It is a great honor for me to be here. As you`ve mentioned it is a first visit by a Serbian president to your country. This means we`re writing history. I believe we will continue our relations as real friends. I see a lot of similarities in the Balkans and Caucasus - the regions we live in, the regions which are developing. And, so we face similar challenges.
We`re very interested in developing our bilateral relations. And, at the same time, we are carrying out discussions on how to solve problems and challenges our countries are facing.
While here in Baku, Azerbaijan, I`ve witnessed a number of similarities. First, there are some which bind our peoples and countries together. I`m sure you will make sure of it when you pay a visit to our country.
Mr. President, I think, we share common interests concerning the protection of our territorial integrity. We`ve conducted an exchange of opinion, and we consider this kind of issues very principal.
Serbia supports territorial integrity of all world countries. And on this issue, you can rely upon us."
