President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Co-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), former Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines Jose de Venecia and Co-Chairman of the Standing Committee and Secretary General of the ICAPP Chung Eui-yong.

Co-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties Jose de Venecia expressed satisfaction with their visit to Azerbaijan. Jose de Venecia said that the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan were excellently organized and held. Noting that there were nearly 340 ruling and opposition parties from Asia in the ICAPP, Jose de Venecia hailed the fact that the Women's Wing of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties was founded in Baku and the Youth Wing was established in the Azerbaijani capital and Kuala Lumpur. He said: “Your government and the International Conference of Asian Political Parties have strong, sound and dynamic relations thanks to your leadership and the New Azerbaijan Party.”

Noting that cooperation with the partners from Asia was a key priority, the head of state said that Azerbaijan attached importance to expanding relations with Asian political parties. The Azerbaijani President expressed his satisfaction with the successful holding of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties` events in Baku. Stressing the necessity of strengthening ties with the friendly countries, President Ilham Aliyev noted the importance of conducting the political dialogue between parties, adding the expansion of cooperation in this area would contribute to the strengthening of ties between countries. President Ilham Aliyev said the visit of the Co-Chairmen of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties to Azerbaijan allowed to define new opportunities for strengthening the partnership. The head of state emphasized that Azerbaijan would continue to play an important role in strengthening cooperation among political parties in Asia.
