On May 8th President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti.

The Head of State said cooperation between the Government of Azerbaijan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development develops successfully.

Touching upon the achievements gained in economic field, President Ilham Aliyev noted that despite oil drop, this didn`t have strong impact on Azerbaijan`s economy, thanks to the works done in the direction of diversification of the economy in the country.

The Head of State said the visit of the delegation led by President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti was a good opportunity to discuss the issues related to the prospects of cooperation.

Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti said Azerbaijan was a reliable partner, saying the Bank he leads attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Suma Chakrabarti expressed satisfaction with the projects carried out in Azerbaijan, and stressed the importance of works done in diversification of the economy, development of the non-oil field in the country.

They exchanged views on the issues related to the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in establishment of energy infrastructure, information-communication technologies, transport, agriculture and other fields.
