An Azerbaijani delegation led by Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ogtay Asadov has met Mayor of Shanghai Ying Yong.

They praised the successful development of relations between the two countries in a variety of fields. The sides stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits in terms of development of the bilateral ties. They noted that the agreements reached during the state visit of President Ilham Aliyev to China in 2015 made a great contribution to the further expansion of the cooperation in various areas.

They noted that the political trust and mutual understanding between the two countries gave an impetus to the deepening of relations in economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

The parties hailed the exemplary cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in recent years in the field of economy, including energy, trade, infrastructure, mechanical engineering and tourism. They noted that the further deepening of relations between Azerbaijan and Shanghai, which is one of the largest contributors to the Chinese economy, will be fruitful.
