A group of U.S. congressmen including Ralph Hall, Pete Olson, Henry Cuellar, Gene Green, Nora Espinoza and K.Mark Takai have sent a congratulatory letter to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on his birthday.
The letter says: “Dear President Aliyev, We are writing to offer our sincere congratulations and best wishes to you on your birthday! Your personal commitment and contribution to the strategic partnership between the United States and Azerbaijan are greatly appreciated. Our two nations are tested allies and our friendship has become even stronger under your leadership.
The relationship between our two countries is important, and our strategic partnership in energy as well as a range of geopolitical issues is strong. From narcotics smuggling to reducing terrorism, our countries have worked closely together on a number of issues.
We also appreciate the continued role Azerbaijan plays in diversifying energy supplies to Europe. We look forward to the expanding and deepening friendship between our two countries.”
