President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of congratulation to Naoto Kan on his election as Prime Minister of Japan.
In his letter, the President praised the Azerbaijan-Japan relations.
"I hope intergovernmental ties, multifaceted friendly relations and our fruitful cooperation, which covers a number of areas of mutual interest, will continue developing and strengthening for the prosperity of our peoples."
President Ilham Aliyev wished Naoto Kan robust health, happiness and successes in his activity for the prosperity of the people of Japan.
