Iran and Azerbaijan want peace and stability to reign in the region and therefore pursue a policy in this way,” Head of the Presidential Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Vaezi has told journalists.

Vaezi noted that over the past 5 years the presidents of Azerbaijan and Iran have met 12 times to discuss the development of bilateral relations. He underlined that the documents signed between the states paved the way for the strengthening of economic ties.

Mahmoud Vaezi said that the aim of his visit to Baku is to meet with Azerbaijani officials to discuss the prospects of developing bilateral relations and regional security.
