The Azerbaijan Embassy to the United States carried out a student Essay Contest at the University of Maryland as part of the Year of Ecology announced in Azerbaijan by the President Ilham Aliyev.
The contest which was themed as ‘Azerbaijan: most attractive facts and achievements' has an objective to encourage American students to study Azerbaijan`s culture, environment, ecology, history, economy, and traditions.
Two students of the University of Maryland, Chinchu Harrisi and Hafi Yillahi, have won the contest. They will be offered to make a tour to Azerbaijan.
The winners will reportedly attend environment-related training courses in Baku on May 21 - June 4.
