The 2nd “Forum of the ECO Economic Think Tank Centers” and the 2nd “International Conference on Energy, Regional Integration and Socio-economic Development” kicked off in Baku. The Meetings is hosted by the Institute for Scientific Research on Economic Reforms under the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan in cooperation with the Economic Cooperation Organization.
The main objective of the 2nd Baku Forum is to establish a sustainable partnership among Economic Think Tank Centers of ECO Member States. The Forum will discuss the issues related to regional economic development strategies, policies and programs.
Addressing the Forum, Minister of the Economic Development of Azerbaijan Republic said Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the Organization’s activity to expand the member states’ cooperation.
The Minister highlighted economic achievements of Azerbaijan, the issues related to economic development of the region with focus on energy, regional integration and socio-economic development of the ECO countries.
Shamil Alaskarov, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization noted the notable strengthening of cooperation among the ECO member states.
