MIPIM Asia, the world's property market in Asia Pacific, recently announces the winners for the sixth edition of its Awards competition, which honors outstanding real estate projects in the Asia Pacific region.
Baku White City Project has won MIPIM Asia Awards 2011 (Hong Kong) competition in the category «Best future project of Central and Western Asia»
In addition to the Baku White City, in this category were selected projects of the tourism cluster «Northern Caucasus Resorts» (www.ncrc.ru), as well as Abu Dhabi International Airport Midfield Complex project presented by the «Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates» company (www.kpf.com).
The international jury, chaired by Dr. Ngee Huat SEEK, Board Director, Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) Real Estate, Singapore, met in Hong Kong, September 9, to examine the 80 projects from 15 countries that entered this year's awards.
China, Singapore and India dominated the list of entries with respectively 29, 15 and 12 projects. Submissions also covered Australia, Azerbaijan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. The MIPIM Asia Awards jury selected 29 winners in 10 distinct categories.
Projects were presented in such nominations as «Best Business Center», «Best «green» building», «Best hotel and tourism resorts», «Best mixed-type building», «Best residential building» and the new nominations «Best Chinese future project», «Best shopping center» and «Best urban regeneration projects».
Winners were announced based on results of jury secret voting, as well as virtual rates of the exhibition participants in online regime.
International real estate exhibition MIPIM Asia, which aims at attracting foreign investment to the Pacific in the construction and organization of effective communication for regional investors, takes place in Hong Kong every year since 2006.
Urban Development Project Baku White City is carried out under the Decree of the President Ilham Aliyev on the approval of the «Plan of complex measures to improve the environmental situation in Azerbaijan in 2006-2010».
