Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway, has said Azerbaijan rationally uses it oil reserves.
Speaking to a pres conference on the outcomes of his two-day visit to Baku, he noted: "A sharp fall in the poverty level in Azerbaijan in the last 10 years proves that the country`s oil reserves are rationally used."
He said Azerbaijan`s oil and gas industry had long and glorious history.
The Norwegian Crown Prince also hailed the Azerbaijani government`s attention to developing education.
"In terms of human development, Azerbaijan is among the countries with rapid development rates."
The Crown Prince praised the energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Norway. "Statoil has been operating in Azerbaijan for ten years."
He also recalled his meeting with Azerbaijan`s President, calling it an unforgettable event.
Norway`s minister of petroleum and energy Ola Borten Moe said they held talks in Baku to explore prospects for deepening and expanding the bilateral cooperation.
"Realization of the Shah-Deniz project opens up new horizons for cooperation. We discussed the transportation of Azerbaijan`s gas to Europe. Diversification of energy recourses is of great importance to Europe," he added.
