The Azerbaijan-Lithuania business forum supported by the Economic Development Ministry and organized by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) has today commenced here with attendance of visiting speaker of the Litnuania`s Seimas Irena Degutiene.
The event brought together not only officials but also over 20 businessmen from the sectors of agriculture, food, energy, telecom, construction and education.
Addressing the forum participants, speaker of Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov said trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Lithuania was considerably increased and large opportunities for cooperation in the non-oil sector created. Mr. Asadov said the business forum will create conditions to set up joint-ventures, make investments, increase trade turnover and develop different fields of economy. Speaker said over the past ten years, the country`s state budget increased 15-fold and currency resources reached 30 billion dollars.
Mrs. Degutiene told of economic relations between the two countries and significance of the business forums for upcoming cooperation. Chief of AZPROMO Adil Mammadov, executive director of Azerbaijan Investment Company Rovshan Najaf and official of Lithuania`s Foreign Affairs Ministry Regimantas Yablonskas delivered presentations on investments, large-scale projects and business opportunities.
The forum participants watched the documentary films about Azerbaijan and Lithuania.
