President of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev has tasked the State Oil Company (SOCAR) to bring the level of gasification up to 95% in 2018.

At the conference devoted to the 4th year of the State Program on Socio-Economic Development of Regions for 2014-2018 President Ilham Aliyev stated that currently the level of gasification is 93% and this is a good indicator.

"But there are still villages where gas lines have not been laid. Our country plans to allocate AZN 100 million to SOCAR for this purpose. Particularly, SOCAR should carry out work on gasification for the short term and bring its level up to 95%. Then, steps will be taken next year to lay the gas lines to the remote villages," the head of state underlined.
