According to the National Department for Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, currently, water richness holds 130-140% of decade norm in Quba-Khachmaz region rivers of Major Caucasus, 140-190% in Minor Caucasus rivers, 100-200% in Lankaran-Astara region rivers and 220% Nakhchivan AR.

Current condition in the transit rivers

On January 15, 14cm increase in water level was issued in Giragkesemen settlement of Kura river. Currently water consumption holds 218m3/sec in the settlement, i.e 136% of decade norm (in 2016, 132m3/sec, i.e 83% of decade norm. No change in water level has been observed in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh River. At present, water consumption hold 68m3/sec, i.e 70% of decade norm. (in 2016, 47m3/sec, i.e 70% of decade norm).

Current condition in the downstream of Kura river

On January 15, decrease in water level has been observed in the downstream of Kura River.

In this regard, 2cm in Shirvan, 4cm in Salyan and Banka, while 2 cm in Surra, 3 cm in Novruzlu settlement of Aras.

At present, water level holds 377cm (on January 15, 2017, 447cm) in Surra settlement, 247cm (on January 15, 2017, 351) in Shirvan, 199 cm (on January 15, 2017, 297cm) in Salyan, 211cm (on January 15, 2017, 233cm) in Banka, while 108cm (on January 15, 2017, 173cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
