According to the National Department for Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, currently, water richness holds 120-130% of decade norm in Quba-Khachmaz region rivers of Major Caucasus, 120-160% in Minor Caucasus rivers, 50-70% in Lankaran-Astara region rivers and 180% Nakhchivan AR.

Current condition in the transit rivers

10 cm decrease in water level was issued in Giragkesemen settlement of Kura river. Currently water consumption holds 142 m3/sec in the settlement, i.e 84% of decade norm (in 2016, 153m3/sec, i.e 91% of decade norm. No change in water level has been observed in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh River. At present, water consumption holds 101m3/sec, i.e 94% of decade norm. (in 2016, 110m3/sec, i.e 103% of decade norm).

Current condition in the downstream of Kura river

Decrease in water level has been observed in the downstream of Kura River.
In this regard, 3 cm decrease in Surra, 10 cm in Shirvan, 2cm in Novruzlu settlement of Aras, 2 cm increase in Banka while no change in Salyan.

At present, water level holds 378cm (on October 16, 2016, 446cm) in Surra settlement, 263cm in Shirvan, 210 cm (on October 16, 2016, 278cm) in Salyan, 199cm (on October 16, 2016, 231cm) in Banka, while 106cm (on October 16, 2016, 155cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
