According to the National Department for Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, currently, water richness holds 50-60% of decade norm in Quba-Khachmaz region rivers of Major Caucasus, 40-120% in Minor Caucasus rivers, 10% in Lankaran-Astara region rivers, 20% in Nakhchivan AR.

Current condition in the transit rivers

On May 26, 10 cm decrease in water level was issued in Giragkesemen settlement of Kura river. Currently water consumption holds 472 m3/sec in the settlement, i.e 68% of decade norm (in 2016, 468m3/sec, i.e 67% of decade norm. 13cm increase in water level has been observed in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh River. At present, water consumption holds 189m3/sec, i.e 95% of decade norm. (in 2016, 177m3/sec, i.e 89% of decade norm).  

Current condition in the downstream of Kura river

On May 26, increase  in water level has been observed in the downstream of Kura River. In this regard, 4 cm in Surra, 2 cm in Shirvan, 7 cm  in Banka, 5 cm in Novruzlu settlement of Aras while no change in Salyan.

At present, water level holds 392cm (on May 26, 2016, 350cm) in Surra settlement, 257 cm in Shirvan, 182cm (on May 26, 2016, 180cm) in Salyan, 186cm (on May 26, 2016, 182cm) in Banka, while 97cm (on May 26, 2016, 63cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
