According to the National Department for Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, currently, water richness holds 70-110% of decade norm in Quba-Khachmaz region rivers of Major Caucasus, 50-180% in Minor Caucasus rivers, 20-60% in Lankaran-Astara region rivers.

Current condition in the transit rivers

On May 08, 4 cm decrease in water level was issued in Giragkesemen settlement of Kura river. Currently water consumption holds 432m3/sec in the settlement, i.e 60% of decade norm (in 2016, 407m3/sec, i.e 57% of decade norm. 7cm decrease in water level has been observed in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh River. At present, water consumption holds 156m3/sec, i.e 79% of decade norm. (in 2016, 191m3/sec, i.e 96% of decade norm).  

Current condition in the downstream of Kura river

On May 08, no change in water level has been observed in the downstream of Kura River. In this regard, 8cm decrease in Surra, 2 cm in Shirvan, 1 cm in Novruzlu settlement of Aras while no change in Salyan and Banka. At present, water level holds 368cm (on May 08, 2016, 433cm) in Surra settlement, 205 cm in Shirvan, 135cm (on May 08, 2016, 247cm) in Salyan, 167cm (on May 08, 2016, 215cm) in Banka, while 56cm (on May 08, 2016, 150cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
