The Creative Stage UNS has hosted a premier of "From the Cradle to Eternity" film commemorating world-famous singer and composer Muslim Magomayev.
Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva watched the film.
Participants of the event viewed a photo exhibition at the theatre's lobby highlighting the life and activities of Muslim Magomayev.
Speaking to a ceremony prior to demonstration of the film, rector of the Baku branch of Moscow State University, Professor Nargiz Pashayeva welcomed the spouse of late Muslim Magomayev, USSR People's Artist Tamara Sinyavskaya, and President of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation Olga Rostropovich.
Professor Nargiz Pashayeva said that the name of Muslim Magomayev entered the history of not only Azerbaijan, but also Russia, and, in general, all humanity. “He, as a true star, lived a short life, once came down to us from heaven and then again went back. We will always remember him as a great man, a true friend, a true master, a patriot and a beautiful person. Time and space separating people are powerless before the memory of Muslim Magomayev.”
Praising the film by young filmmaker Mehdi Mammadov, Professor Nargiz Pashayeva noted that “we are used to hear the voice and performance of Muslim Magomayev. And in this movie, we also hear the voice of his soul. The text of the film is based on the memoirs of Muslim Magomayev.”
Nargiz Pashayeva stressed that Magomayev's song "Blue Eternity" is not an ordinary song, but “the life itself”.
USSR People's Artist Tamara Sinyavskaya expressed deep gratitude to “everyone who contributed to making the film”. The wife of the late singer noted that the scenes of the film that reflect their early years made a good impression on her. Sinyavskaya said that Azerbaijan is “a close and dear country” for her.
The event ended with the performance of “Blue Eternity” by singer and composer Emin Agalarov.
