An opening ceremony of the Hall of Philosophers of Rome`s Capitoline museum, repair works of which supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was held on Friday.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov, as part of the event, has met Mayor of Rome İgnazio Marino.
They discussed current state of bilateral relations, as well as developing prospects of cooperation between Baku and Rome.
The sides also exchanged views on economic and cultural relations.
They praised repair of the Hall of Philosophers of Rome`s Capitoline museum supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation as it would strengthen friendship relations between Azerbaijan and Italy.
Following the ceremony, Vagif Sadigov and İgnazio Marino held the joint press conference.
The Ambassador praised overall developing relations between the two countries. “Italy, already too many years is the main trade partner of Azerbaijan”, he said.
Mr. Sadigov stressed the importance of works by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in terms of developing the current state of relations between Baku and Rome.
İgnazio Marino, in turn, praised the works carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the Hall of Philosophers of Rome`s Capitoline museum, adding, this would further contribute to developing the cultural relations between the two countries.
He also said the close relations between the two countries would further steadily develop.
