Supported by TURKSOY and the permanent missions of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to the UNESCO, the 100th anniversary of “Arshin mal alan” musical comedy by the genius Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli will be marked at the UNESCO Headquarters on September 17.
The decision was made at the 187th session of UNESCO Executive Board in 2011. The proposal was unanimously approved by session participants.
The spectacle will be conducted by the People Artist of Azerbaijan, Professor Agaverdi Pashayev, and performed by the Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz and Turkish actors.
A special photo-stand narrating on the history of the operetta and film will be arranged.
Officials of TURKSOY, representatives of the UNESCO, as well as the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism will attend the anniversary event.
